Crawlsaces can be wet places. If the moisture in the crawlspace is over 20% it can lead to to moisture damage to the wood if it is not controlled. Take a look at the moisture damage to these joists. I could stick my srewdriver right through 80% of them. This Charlotte NC home had moisture in the crawl for over 30 years and this is what happened. Sdaly 80% of these joist will have to be replaced or sistered.
